Strong families require constant workWhen I was a kid I truly believed that if I did everything “right” that I would be happy and when I got married, I’d be happily married with a bunch of happy kids because we all did everything “right”. You know, “Keep the commandments and you’ll prosper in the land.” WOW! WAS I IN FOR SOME SERIOUS DISAPPOINTMENT!

President Uchtdof’s talk that today’s quote comes from really resonated with me. It’s a message I would have liked to heard years ago, along with some major coaching on how to develop the skills necessary to do the “constant, intentional work” well.

Two skills I have learned that have helped me keep my family stronger and more connected are family home evening and scripture study. We have been so successful by my standards that I have a deep desire to help others develop the skills necessary to enjoy family home evening and scripture study, too.

I’m curious! What are your greatest challenges when it comes to family home evening and scripture study? What are your success stories? Please email me here and let me know.

Happy Home Evenings!
